Every dog has a story
Some of the loveliest moments in the studio happen with the dogs who find things hardest... the older ones, the nervous ones, the ones who just need a little extra time. Here are a few of their stories.
Carly's Story
Carly's groom was a lovely one. She's an older rescue girl with some age-related weakness, so I kept everything slow, gentle and calm from start to finish.
Older dogs often need a little more time, a softer approach and a few breaks along the way, and that's exactly what Carly had. She settled really well and was such a sweet girl to spend time with.
It's always a privilege to groom dogs like Carly, especially when you can see how loved they are.

Scout & Skye
Scout came in for a big deshed, ear clean and nail tidy... and what a gentle soul he is. Because Scout is blind, grooming is all about trust. He listens for my voice, follows the warmth of my hands, and settles once he knows every touch is safe. In a calm, one-to-one space there's no noise or surprises to worry about... just him, and a bit of steady reassurance.
Then there's Skye, his little sister, in for her own big deshed and looking gorgeous for it. She kept one eye on her brother the whole time, checking he was okay... right up until she decided it was her turn for cuddles and gently shoved him out of the way. Protective, cheeky, and devoted to him.
Scout left lighter and proud of himself. Skye left having looked after her big brother and claimed more than her share of snuggles. Days like this are exactly why comfort-led grooming matters... it gives dogs like Scout the space to feel brave, understood and loved.

Dougie's First Groom
Dougie the retriever came in for his very first puppy groom, and honestly, I didn't want to give him back. At just five months old, he was an absolute little angel from start to finish.
He even helped me make the cutest paw print for his My First Groom certificate. After his bath he snuggled in and had a little nap while I dried him, and handled everything... the bath, the dryer, having his paws and face handled, and being up on the table... so well for such a young pup.
Dougie's mam and dad have given him a lovely start by introducing him to grooming early. These first visits aren't just about the finished groom... they help puppies get used to the bath, the dryer, brushing, and being handled, all in a calm and unhurried way. Welcome to the Cosy Coat family, Dougie... it was such a pleasure having you in the studio.
